Izumi Kawasaki
A newcomer to the excellent Gerpfast Records label, a veritable mine of harsh nuggets and power electronics from Asia, the Japanese Izumi Kawasaki gives fans of radical abstraction no respite on this mini-album where Buddhist percussion, samples of mystical chants filtered and other metallic rhythms intersect the larsenizing impulses and saturated with pure cathartic noise which constitute the essence of these three uncompromising tracks. To follow closely if you like Merzbow, Puce Mary, Uboa and other providers of storms (under a skull) of analog splinters, white noise and rusty nails. - indie rock mag July 2019.

KO.DO.NA. (Kazutaka Kuroki)
Kazutaka Kuroki was born in Fukuoka 1977 and moved to Tokyo in 1998.
He joined Theater Company Karagumi after working as a club DJ, improvisational performer, and contemporary music. he works as an actor.
After leaving the company, he started composing music for the play and working as a trumpet soloist.
He has held and continued independent projects at "BULLET'S" in Nishi-Azabu and "SuperDeluxe" in Roppongi.
He has participated in a total of 5 omnibus recordings in Japan and overseas.
In 2011, participated in "John Cage "Musicircus"" at Asahi Art Square (sponsored by Tomomi Adachi).
From 2013 to 2015, a short tour will be held in NY and South Korea.
In 2014, he was the first Japanese musician to perform at the Sakura Sound Festival.
In 2015, KO.DO.NA. released "Riunione Dell'uccello" from the label "HIPSTER record".
He is also active in a wide range of fields, including stage music, improvisation, dance performances, and musical performances.

Li李/Motorsaw har skabt de audio/visuelle rammer for Cherry Music Festival årligt siden 2014 og er de kunstneriske værter der med interludes og backdrop sætter scenen for de inviterede japanske kunstnere.
Motorsaw er Bl.a kendt for videokunst på Roskilde Festival og Li李’s ambient lydunivers kan høres på adskillige værker og produktioner med navne som bl.a Palle Mikkelborg og Martin Hall.

Cherry Music Festival 2023 - Noise og ambient direkte fra Tokyo
Stærke musiknavne fra Tokyos undergrund indtager Borgernes Hus når festival med grænsesøgende japansk musik og lydkunst skydes i luften på Odense Musikbibliotek
Navnet "Cherry Music Sakura Festival" er en reference til de smukke japanske kirsebærtræer som i denne tid står i flor, men paradoksalt nok, viser festivalen det stik modsatte: Nemlig at japansk kultur kan være grænsesøgende og ekstrem.
Koncerterne denne aften vil bevæge sig i grænselandet mellem power electronics, drone ambient, lydkunst og harsh noise.
I løbet af aftenen vil publikum få lejlighed til at smage en flydende delikatesse fra japanske kultur. Inkluderet i festivalbilletten, som koster 60 kr er et glas af den japanske risvin Sake.
